Tales from Minnesota & The Junk Bonanza Part I

This is the vintage fire engine that greeted us Friday morning. We were ready to shop, with coffee in hand we were off and what a wonderful time we had. The "Ballroom" was filled with wonderful dealers and the displays and goods for sale were awesome. Ki put on such a wonderful show and everyone that worked with her to make it a success could not have been nicer. It rained in the tent Thursday but I don't think that got anyone down for long. Below is a photo of my sister and I with Ki. What a down-to-earth sweet lady!
I was on the hunt for cream colored pottery and I came with about a dozen wonderful pieces. Below are just a few of them. My sister was on the hunt for tole painted trays and we scored big time with many of those too! Just a few shown below I bought some really adorable felted pumpkins. Our minds were spinning with ideas and things that we could create. Here is a photo of one of the wonderful booths.
Before heading out to the corral we re-fueled with brats (bratwurst) and had just gotten through most of the ballroom when the power went out! We heard later it was out for a few hours. We headed out to the tent and shopped some more...

JUNK BONANZA & GIVE-AWAY!!

I'm hosting a give-away and the winner will be picked upon my return next week. The October issue of Romantic Homes Magazine and several other goodies will be sent to one of you lucky gals - please just leave a comment before September 18.

I'm packing my bags (packing lightly so that I have room for many treasures) and heading East to the Junk Bonanza! I'll be visiting my sister in Minneapolis, MN to celebrate my niece's 2nd birthday and my nephew's 4th birthday - the dates coincide with the Junk Bonanza! Can't wait to see those kids!

Ki is a true junker and my sister and I have been fortunate to visit the Junk Market on many occasions and I have also visited her book signing during a tour at the Rose Bowl Flea Market a few years ago. Ki is pulling out all the stops for this event with over 100 amazing vendors. There will also be a Book Signing by Country Home style editor and celebrity author Matthew Mead. The girls will be shopping til we drop as they say - mom, sister and I!He'll be signing his new books Entertaining Simple and Matthew Mead’s Halloween Tricks and Treats. He is amazing!

Also, the Red Shed ladies will be there - hoping to run into them somehow!
