We spent last weekend in Coronado stay at this wonderful historic hotel!
My sister and her family were visiting so the boys and I headed South to Coronado Island and enjoyed a fiew days at this beautiful resort. The weather however did not cooperate but it did not dampen our fun too much - ok except for the surry cycle ride! What started out as a fun ride around the island on a surry built for 6 ended in a down pour with two little one's strapped to the front literally hysterical by the time we were able to make it back. Nothing that a warm bath and a trip to the candy shop could not fix! We collected sand dollars and assorted "baby shells" on the beach. The kids rock climbed and we shopped for beach cottages!
Enjoy the Coronado Island drive by's - taken from the surry cycle speeding past.Monday
RED is my Favorite Color
Sara Duckett of Sadie Olive is hosting a little tour of blogs featuring RED! Here are just a few of my favorite things! I'll try to add more photos tomorrow.
My Vintage Red Wash Stand filled with Flowers on the Patio
Raspberries and Strawberries (Blueberries too)
My Red Hammock
My Girlfriend's Red Dining Room - in progress photo
My Red Hutch in the Kitchen
Saturday
The Color Purple
We had oodles of cupcakes - purple of course and delicious Mexican food donated by many of our local restaurants (I never even had a moment to taste a single thing the whole night)! Our gal pal Kathy gave a very moving testimony about being a survivor and what Relay has meant to her - she really rocks! The little flags in the cupcakes and flags in the centerpieces I made from a template that I purchased from talented Tracey!
THANK YOU DEBRA & PAT!!!I'll be spending my weekend sprucing up the garden with the plants that I bought this morning from the Garden Club; shasta daisy's, foxgloves and ivy geranium's! and of couse a little trashing!
Sunday
Some Catching up to do...
Stop and smell the flowers!
A little hectic lately here and I have been a lazy blogger...

Bathroom re-do. Our tiny master bath is going through a make-over. I forgot to take a before shot but here is the demo photo. Hopefully (fingers crossed) the after shot will be taken in a few days!
Front porch make-over. Here is the demo shot and here is a sneak peak of our in progress shot. We are loving the aluma-wood patio cover and christened it with a glass of chardonnay and smoked salmon this afternoon.
I'm up to my eye-balls in preparation for the dinner tomorrow night that I am hosting for cancer survivors and care-givers. We are topping out at 90 guests - YIKES!! I was hoping for a 100 and it looks like we are very close. We're going with a cinco de mayo food theme with food donated by a couple of generous Mexican restaurants, the cupcakes are tooooo cute 1/2 with purple frosting and 1/2 with white - I added the sprinkles. With all our renno this weekend there was not time to bake! I made cute little flags for the cupcakes and some bigger one's for the centerpieces thanks to the templates I bought from this talented lady! We are so busy getting our yard ready for our 2nd annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. We're hosting with my 3 girlfriends and the money raised will go to our team's fundraising for our Mission Viejo Relay for Life. We have about 3 weeks left to get everything looking "oh so perfect". Wish me luck tomorrow night - it should be a great night. I was getting a little choked up at times as I spoke to people on the phone calling in their RSVP's.
Tuesday
A little bit of this & a little bit of that!

Things are looking up! Hubby started his new career/dream job yesterday - YEAH! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers! Hint...it has something to do with fermented grape juice :)
Funny thing happened to me this morning at the office, I was alone in the pantry and noticed that our high-tech pod coffee maker was running low on water, so as I normally do I use the hose/sprayer to fill up the tank, the sprayer has been leaking lately so for some unknown reason I decided to fiddle with it while I had the water on...the right side of my body was immediately drenched! I was wearing a cute white blouse today - instant wet t-shirt contest going on! I had a meeting in the office in 10 minutes. I closed the pantry door and locked it - luckily we have an iron and ironing board in the office - quickly took off the blouse and ironed it dry! Only problem now was my bra was drenched...I proceded to very carefully iron my bra while still wearing it so that when I put my dry blouse back on it did not look like I was lactating! I have never worked so hard in my life for a cup of coffee! Is it Friday yet!! Some friends at worked loved my little episode and invited me to join their Stoopid Girls Club.
Construction is underway on our front porch - will post before and after pix soon. Old icky porch cover is down, new aluma-wood cover going up soon along with an arbor. Well I'm off now to our last home Lacross game - the season went by too quickley. GO MUSTANGS!
Friday
SATURDAY!!
Saturday is almost here YEAH! The day will start out with some serious trashing - one of the neighborhoods in our area has an annual rummage and they go all out! There is one house that sells the best egg rolls and always have such a long line - they must own a local Chinese Restaurant? You can purchase tamales, pastries - you name it it's probably there. I always have found great treasures - fingers are crossed. Then it's over to the McCharles House for another fun event with the editors or Cottages & Bungalows magazine (Romantic Homes too). I hope to run into some fellow So. Cal Bloggers there. Maybe a movie tomorrow night with hubby. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
